Privacy Policy
DepositCam (“the App”) is an Android and iOS app that helps renters document the condition of a rental with timestamped, GPS-stamped photos and a PDF report. This policy explains what data is used and where it goes.
Disclaimer
DepositCam records what your phone captured: the photo, the device’s date and time, and GPS coordinates when you allow location. The PDF is your own record to keep or share. Wade Foundry does not review your photos or decide a dispute. Time and GPS come from the device. If location is off, skipped, or inaccurate, or the device clock is wrong, the stamp reflects that. DepositCam is a documentation tool. It is not legal advice, a property inspection, or a guarantee that a security deposit will be returned.
Delete your data
On your device: Walkthroughs and photos stay on your phone by default. To delete them:
- Uninstall DepositCam, or
- Android: open Settings → Apps → DepositCam → Storage and tap Clear storage / Clear data.
- iPhone: open Settings → General → iPhone Storage → DepositCam and tap Delete App.
Either action removes walkthroughs, photos, captions, notes, witness names, and the local PDF unlock flag for that install.
Optional cloud account: If you created a DepositCam Cloud account, you can delete it and the associated cloud data in two ways:
- In the App: Account → Delete account & cloud data.
- Without the App: email support@depositcam.com from the address you signed in with, and ask us to delete your DepositCam account. We will remove your cloud PDFs, walkthrough photo backups, and account profile.
Google Play purchase and subscription records remain with Google under Google’s policies. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Google account / Play subscriptions page. Apple purchase and subscription records remain with Apple. Manage or cancel subscriptions in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Restore a one-time PDF unlock with Restore purchase in the App. Local walkthroughs on a phone stay until you clear app data or uninstall.
Data stored on your device
Walkthroughs, stamped photos, captions, notes, witness names, optional GPS coordinates on those photos, SHA-256 photo fingerprints, and your one-time PDF unlock status are saved on your device by default.
- Uninstalling the App removes walkthroughs, photos, and unlock status stored in that install.
- We cannot restore data that was only stored on your device.
- If you turn on “Save photos to gallery,” a copy of each stamped photo is written to your device album. DepositCam does not read your existing photo library.
Optional account and DepositCam Cloud
An account is not required for core DepositCam features. DepositCam Cloud is a subscription: Google Play on Android, Apple on iPhone. If you subscribe, you may sign in with email magic link or, on Android, Google. We then store, in private cloud storage operated for us by Supabase:
- Your account email.
- Finished PDF reports you explicitly save to Cloud.
- Walkthrough backups you explicitly upload — stamped photos, captions, property details, and any GPS coordinates already on those photos — so you can restore them on another device.
We do not upload walkthroughs or PDFs unless you choose those Cloud actions while signed in with an active subscription. We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Camera, location, and notifications
The App asks for camera access to take room photos and short room videos. If you record a video, it also asks for the microphone, and only while that recording is running. You can add a photo already in your library; that pick stays on your device. Photos and videos stay on your device unless you later back up that walkthrough to Cloud.
The App may ask for location so GPS coordinates can be burned into photo pixels and stored with the walkthrough. Location is requested in the foreground when you take a photo, after an in-app explanation. You can skip GPS and still use the App; photos will be timestamped without coordinates. Location is not sent to Wade Foundry unless you back up that walkthrough to Cloud.
If you set a move-out date, the App may ask for notification permission so it can remind you to photograph the property before you hand back the keys, and so it can remind you when a general state deposit-return window is closing. Reminders are scheduled on your device. You can refuse notifications and still use the App.
Payments
Optional PDF export unlock is a one-time purchase: Google Play Billing on Android, and Apple on iPhone. Optional DepositCam Cloud is a monthly or yearly subscription on Android and an auto-renewable subscription on iPhone. Google handles your payment method when you buy on Android, and Apple handles it when you buy on iPhone. We do not receive or store your full card number. After a successful one-time purchase or restore, the App stores an unlock flag on that device. A purchase on one store does not unlock the other phone. Cloud entitlement is tied to your signed-in account after the store verifies the subscription.
Analytics
The App does not use third-party advertising trackers. We do not sell your personal information.

Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
